Goodbye & Hello.

Goodbye 2025

It is the start of a new year. I always reflect at the change of the year on what went right and what went wrong during the year. 2025 was not the best year I ever had.

The year started off with the death of my last living grandparent. I am lucky to say that my grandmother lived to her mid 80’s; and was surrounded by her family in the final weeks. This was the start of the lows. It was a low due to all the highs we had with her and as a family.

On the highs I got a promotion and was start saving up for some long term plans. Started this blog, with planned content.

Then life happened. My mom was severely injured, and I became her primary caregiver. Good thing for the savings. It is all gone but helped cover cost as we got her through emergency surgery and transported back to Virginia. I also have an understanding boss and a remote job. This allowed me to keep working and take care of mom.

The blog, didn’t go quite how I hoped. Partly because life got in the way of the plans I had and partly I realize a few barriers I put up myself.

Hello 2026!

I also like to plan ahead for the New Year. It is a chance to set my intentions.

In 2026, I am going to continue saving for long time goals. The money last year may not have been used for the intended purpose, but it sure came in handy.

In 2026 I am going to continue the blog- trying to remove some of the self-imposed barriers to success.

I am happy to report that although Mom is not back to pre-injury condition she is healing and making progress everyday requiring less help from me. This will allow me to get back to focusing on some of my own needs. My own fitness and health goals got lost along the way in 2025. I will be bringing them back in 2026.

I hope that we all have a better 2026 then 2025. ~Lady R.
